We take in stray, injured or endangered dogs found on the streets of Essaouira and the surrounding area. Every rescue starts with a report and continues with getting the dog to safety right away.

In Essaouira, on the Moroccan coast, hundreds of dogs are living on the streets. Wild Sun Rescue saves them, heals them and opens the door to a real life.

Where every sun rises again
Wild Sun Rescue is a charity dedicated to rescuing, caring for and protecting the stray dogs of Essaouira. We give them a second chance through veterinary care, adoption, sponsorship and a shelter for those who will never find a family of their own.
We believe that every dog deserves to be loved and protected.
Heal
Veterinary care, microchipping, vaccination, neutering, deworming and blood tests: our dogs receive everything they need to get back on their feet, for as long as it takes.
Support
Adoption in France and across Europe, foster homes, or a lifelong sanctuary for those whose age or health means they can't be adopted. No one is left behind.

It all began with her
The story of Sun
Éloïse had travelled to Essaouira for a riding holiday at Marta's. It was there that she met a little dog, only just rescued, who didn't yet have a name.
She was extraordinarily gentle. It was love at first sight, and Éloïse gave her the name she inspired: Sun. She was the one who sparked the desire for something bigger — and the charity that now carries her name.
There was little or no help in Essaouira: most charities are based in Marrakech. So we decided to take action here.
