Your questions, our answers
Here are the questions we're asked most often. If yours isn't listed, just write to us: we reply to everyone.
Who can adopt a dog?
Anyone of legal age who is ready to make a responsible commitment and to offer a stable, loving home suited to the dog's needs.
What are the adoption fees?
The adoption fees help cover part of the expenses involved in rescuing and preparing the dog: veterinary care, microchipping, vaccinations, spaying or neutering, passport, transport and administrative paperwork.
In practice, the veterinary protocol comes to around €400 and transport to France around €550. See the breakdown.
Are the dogs vaccinated?
Yes. Before they arrive in France, all our dogs are microchipped, vaccinated, treated for parasites and given the veterinary care they need. They travel with their passport and the required health documents.
How do the dogs get to France?
Our dogs travel in full compliance with the regulations in force, by air and road, and only once all the veterinary and administrative formalities are in place.
Why rescue dogs from Morocco?
Our association works alongside our partner Marta, based in Essaouira. Together, we rescue stray dogs and give them a second chance through care, adoption or a place at the sanctuary.
In Essaouira, there was almost no infrastructure: most associations are based in Marrakech.
I can't adopt — can I sponsor a dog?
Yes. You can sponsor a dog to help cover the cost of its food, care and well-being. Sponsorship is especially precious for the dogs who will spend their whole lives at the sanctuary.
Are some dogs never put up for adoption?
Yes. Some dogs, because of their age, health issues or past, will stay at the sanctuary for good, where they receive the care and love they need. They can be sponsored.
Can I become a foster family or a volunteer?
Yes! Foster families and volunteers play an essential role in our mission. Don't hesitate to get in touch to find out more.
Will I be able to get news after the adoption?
Of course! We're always delighted to receive news and photos of our former rescues. We also remain available to support you after the adoption.
What if the adoption doesn't go as planned?
The well-being of our dogs is our priority. If a serious difficulty arises, we encourage you to contact us straight away. Together we'll find the best solution, and we'll never leave one of our dogs without support.
